This is BIG!
In fact, it’s so big, it’s the World’s biggest, and tallest, sandcastle ever made.
Built in Germany… Not on a beach, but in the German industrial city of Duisburg. It stands a whopping 57.11 feet high, and is sculptured showing famous landmarks around the globe.
A sandcastle with a theme!
It pulled in the Guinness World Record on June 5th, 2019, for the biggest ever created. Designed by a team of 12 people, 8 hours a day, for 3.5 weeks, it was not an easy chore. And what’s crazier, is that this castle is solely made of 11,000 tons of sand mixed only with water. No other additives were used.
The base of the castle alone is 85 feet, 3 inches.
And here I am, with a 6″ tower, just trying to put merlons on my keep. Go figure.
