This pink lake is called Lake Hillier. It’s in Western Australia. It’s a remarkable lake, discovered in 1802, and it sits on the largest of the island in Western Australia’s Recherche Archipelago.
It keeps the pink color all year-round. Scientists say is from a high salinity combined with salt-loving algae known as dunaliella salina, and pink bacteria; halobacteria.
So if pink is your color; dive in.
Just know, it’s pretty dangerous and dire. You may not make it out alive.
