Mowing the lawn sounds simple enough, until you get stung by 1,000 bees. This all happened on July 24th, the municipal worker, in stable condition, survived the crazy attack.
But how?
The bees were Africanized honeybees (also called killer bees), and they are not as deadly as you would think. At least in that group size that stung him. If there were 3,000 bees, maybe. So the worker did get lucky. Plus, he wasn’t allergic to the bees either.
Killer bees have been in the US since 1990, and an estimated 40 people a year die from bee stings, wasps, ants, and other bugs.
So there really is more buzz, than bite.
