You aren’t going to believe this. But the very first meme was actually taken from a comic strip way back in 1921.
100 years ago!
It was introduced in a comic strip from a magazine called The Judge.
It’s the very first recorded use of the popular meme “What you think you look like vs. What you actually look like”. It features a two-pane image that depicts a self-image, and an outside perception.
